About the artist

Hello, my name is Alex Beltechi and I am a graphic design student in the city of Oradea, Romania. I enjoy creating mostly personal projects that I later develop into tutorials and I also freelance.

Discovering a talent

I inherit my artistic talent from my mother, but aside from that, I’ve never really been exposed to artistic education, so my personal growth is mostly due to personal exploration and a few important figures that have encouraged me to pursue art. In order to get to the level that I am at now, it took a lot of perseverance and hours spent polishing my skills. My first involvement in graphic design was creating print media projects for my church. By doing this, I was indirectly learning fundamental aspects of design. About a year ago, I won a competition on PSDTUTS, which required me to use techniques described in tutorials. I applied this knowledge to create my own, original entries. Now I am the one writing tutorials and keep pushing myself forward to create increasingly complex art. I aim to know my software well, and create things I’ve never done before, and so far, that has lead to my growth as a designer.

Favourite software

I use mostly Adobe Photoshop CS3, and back it up with Adobe Illustrator CS3. These are elementary to my work.
